Code of Conduct

As the Colorado Startups community has evolved from a handful of entrepreneurs to 10,000+ startup members (“Startupers”) in the Social Groups (Facebook, LinkedIn, and Slack), posting guidelines for the social groups have been created to ensure that the groups deliver value. When posting in social groups, please refer to this Code of Conduct.

Engage Initially

The more you engage, the more you will get from this group. First, invite your friends to the social groups, the more, the merrier. The more you react, comment, and post, the more likely you are to create connections.

Focus on Startups in Colorado

Posts should be about building and supporting the next generation of companies here in Colorado.

Be Kind and Courteous

This community is a welcoming environment; we're all on the startup roller coaster together. Let's treat everyone with respect. Degrading comments will not be tolerated. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required.

Any form of harassment witnessed or reported will not be tolerated and result in removal from the community.

Promote Events

Posts about events in the community (#events) that bring entrepreneurs together are encouraged!

Request Help

Posts asking for help, a recommendation, or a resource for building your company are encouraged!

Offer Help

Posts offering help or resources are strongly encouraged.

Find Mentors

Posts looking for mentors or offering mentorship are strongly encouraged.

Find Talent

Startups in Colorado looking to hire outstanding talent are encouraged to post (#talent / #jobs).

Create Pools

Posts with polls for idea validation, market research, and general feedback are encouraged.

Celebrate Wins

Posts about celebrations and major PR stories are encouraged. Also, any press in general that gives Colorado positive exposure is gladly welcomed.

Crowdfunding Campaigns

Posts about crowdfunding campaigns and ProductHunts are encouraged.

No SOLICITATIONS

While service providers are critical to the startup ecosystem, posts overtly soliciting services are prohibited. Also, while we appreciate the hustle to get sales, posts selling products are prohibited. The social groups would be flooded with solicitation posts if allowed.
